Once again, this is my darling new niece just 7 days old. She is the sweetest thing!! So this was my first newborn shoot and I absolutely loved it!! I made the little headbands she is wearing, and loved how they turned out in the pictures.

This is my darling niece! She is the happiest little thing ever!! I seriously have over 200 photos of her smiling in the pictures! Where do kids like that come from?! Seriously! She does have amazing parents and they are so lucky to have her, I wish we lived closer to them. Thanks Karina she is such a doll and I had so much fun capturing her adorable little personality!

My new niece Mya was born last night, this is her less than a day old. She is so darling, and already seems so incredibly sweet. Today was kind of a rough day and it seemed like everything was going wrong. On top of that I was super nauseas and my phone was dead and I went to the wrong hospital (little detail someone left out :) but as soon as I saw little Mya it was like nothing was wrong or even had been. Babies have a way of doing that :) Her brothers and sister already absolutely love her, and wanted to hold her every second they got. What a wonderful and darling blessing for my older sister and her sweet family.

I loved this shoot! The outfits and hair pieces were absolutely darling!! Not too mention Mckenzie and Greg have some of the cutest kids I have ever seen. Mckenzie and Greg are two incredible photographers! So Mckenzie totally knew exactly what she wanted. Mckenzie shot my wedding over 2 years ago and then last summer let me do an intern with her. She and Greg have been such a great help, and if it weren't for them I probably never would have been able to step out of my comfort zone and get into photography. This is just a peak of the wonders of photoshop. Sometimes images are so much better with just a little editing and the really pretty natural look, but I also think it is so fun sometimes to go all out with the editing :) It's fun every once in awhile to give it a really dreamy bright look, that's deeply saturated. So here are two before and after photos of Julie.

I own a lot of actions (or for those of you not familiar with photoshop terms, they are like editing "recipes" that others have created.) Although for the photo edited above I didn't use any actions. I boosted the saturation, did some major color balance adjustments, and burning and dodging.

This one I did the same and then added texture

PS :) I remember when I first got into photoshop and had no idea what I was doing, if any of you are trying to learn it and feeling the same the two best things that you can learn about are masks and layers (there are tons of good youtube tutorials on them) and also always check your white balance, I think when I learned about that my photos started looking a whole lot better.

NOTE: I'M NOT SAYING MY EDITING IS PERFECT THERE IS ALWAYS MORE TO LEARN! BUT I MAINLY JUST WANTED TO DO THIS POST FOR ANYONE WHO IS TRYING TO GET INTO PHOTOSHOP. HOPE IT HELPS:)

This one was totally Erin's idea! Love it!

Meet Julie.....is she gorgeous or what!? This shoot was a personal shoot for fun. I bought that gorgeous red chair and have been dying to go to Salitare and Salt Lake and use it. Julie is my co-worker, and so Erin and I did this shoot to try new poses and locations. We all had so much fun! Besides the bugs that would not stop attacking us at Salitare- but we all agreed it was totally worth it. As you can tell we were going for more a stylish shoot-hence we had julie mostly just keep a straight face. Julie was so cute too every time we would show her a photo on our cameras she would get so excited. Thanks Julie you are absolutely gorgeous.

PS :) I didn't edit her skin in any of these, she just naturally has PERFECT porcelain skin!

This cute little family is my brother's family. They live in Texas, where Nathan is getting his phd in accounting. His little girls are so darling together. Hailey (the older one) has more personality than any child I know :) They visited for a week when our sister got married. It was so nice to have them here again even if it was just for a short time. much you can do with the colors in camera raw (and obviously as well as in photoshop).

There is so much that can be done in photoshop. I am a photographer that loves the editing process! To me it is just as fun as the actual picture taking. It gives me the opportunity to add a little more of my creativity to the image. I am still learning more and more of all the wonderful photoshop tricks there are, and I won't lie :) Actions are definitely a high light of my editing, whether they are ones I have bought or ones I have created myself. If you have never tried creating your own action, it is definitely worth doing!

Madison's mom brought her little chair with her, and it was so cute because Madison totally

loved it, She just went and sat like this all by herself, getting comfy for the photos :)

She loves her purse and shoes (which I believe are actually her moms)- so cute!

Madison is 2 years old and is cousins with Josee (see a couple posts ago). Erin Brown and I did this shoot together. I don't own studio equipment, but Erin knows all about it and set it up. She did an awesome job.

This shoot was really fun. Madison absolutely loved Erin's cat, and would do what we told her if we said that "Jack the cat" wanted her to do it. So while one of us was shooting the other was chasing after the cat. I think we may have even traumatized him (the cat).

Ok so I totally used to think Fall was my favorite season, but right now spring is looking very convincing. Can I tell you how much I love seeing the blossoms on the trees. It has got to be the best time for photos.

I got this idea for these photos from my friend Erin Brown, we both are obsessed with photography and love shooting together, she often times will come to my shoots as my second photographer. Check out her spring photos here They are amazing!

This is in my parents backyard, I love visiting them, because they still live in the house I grew up in Mapleton, and there are so many memories there. This orchard is full of peaches, pears, apples and appricots in the summer, but in the spring it is full of beautiful blossoms. As for this photo I was going more for the look that a holga camera produces.

Lucy and Brady were so cute together! Lucy works with Lindsay at the hospital, and they are both getting married the same day in May, so I was so happy I got to take her engagements! We took these at Sundance. It was fun hearing how he proposed because they had actually gotten engaged at Sundance just two weeks earlier, so I loved the idea of taking their engagements there!

Wow this shoot was so much fun! Laura loves their horses and playing on their farm, so she wanted her baptism pictures taken with her horses and on the farm. What a great idea! I loved it! Heather and Jeremy make such a cute couple. Heather is Dustin's cousin, but this was my first time meeting Jeremy. They were so fun to photograph, because it was so obvious that they are so in love. It just so happened at the last minute that JT would be flying into Utah this past weekend. Saturday was pretty much the only day he was going to be here, and so we decided to face the cold. It was very freezing during the whole shoot, but still so much fun! We kept finding tons of fun doors and walls that made perfect for some bright, colorful and darling engagements. I loved Leslie's yellow sweater, It went perfect with all the bright colored backgrounds. I think they both did a great job with their outfits. Layering, texture, and color always looks great in photos!

I have been wanting to take a photo of a couple under a big tree, like this, for a long time.
So I was so excited when Dy pointed out this tree. Even though it is in the middle of a parking lot in a city it worked great!

I can't wait to edit this photo shoot! Leslie was my sister's roommate, and I was so excited when she called me to do her engagements, and bridals. She will be getting married in Arizona so she has hired me to do her engagements and bridals while she is here in Utah. I had so much fun with them. Thanks Leslie and JT!

Ok as you can tell I loved this family photo shoot! (As I do every time I get to know a new family, and their cute little kids). The little girl Lucy was so funny she would get so excited every time we would tell her to smile, the black and white photo of her on the trunk is the perfect example of it. The little boy Jackson had the most incredible blue eyes, if you can't tell :) I had taken Jackson's photos when he was about 5 weeks old. (If you remember seeing my photos in the beginning with the little baby in the basket and his little feet poking out). I hadn't seen him since, and I couldn't believe how big he has gotten, he is so cute!

As you know Sydney is my little neice, and as you can tell from the photos she is quite the character. She is so cute! Recently when i took Adrien's kids photos Sydney was sick (which is why she is only in one of the ones I posted not to long ago.) So when Adrien saw the photos I posted recently of Josee she decided she wanted to do Syd's the same.

Josee and I have been hanging out all week while her parents have been in Disneyland. Today Dustin and Josee and I went and enjoyed the leaves. I couldn't resist taking photos of the cute little bug she is so happy! She's like a little angel baby, I mean really she sleeps in until ten- what baby does that? So here is her sweet little cuteness. Mckell and Joseph you two are so lucky. Thanks for sharing her with me.

This wedding was on the perfect day. We were so lucky to have sunshine and warm weather. Aaron is my "step" cousin I guess you could say. Shellee and him have been dating for over a year and we were so excited that the wedding day had finally come. They are such a sweet couple and so much in love.

Devin and Christina were such a darling couple. They are so incredibly in love! Devin is Mckenzie Deakins brother. She is the photographer I have been interning with so I was able to take all the reception pictures so she could just enjoy herself and also all the family photos as well at the temple. These ones are the ones I took when we were shooting together.
